Joint Venture Scholarship Scheme Overview

The NNPC/NAOC/OANDO Joint Venture invites suitably qualified applicants for its 2023/2024 & 2024/2025 Sessions Tertiary Scholarship Scheme. The application window is open from May 27 to June 30, 2024.

Joint Venture Categories of Award

  1. Host/Transit Communities Merit Award: For applicants strictly from NAOC Host/Transit Communities.
  2. National Merit Award: For applicants from Non-Host/Transit Communities.

Requirements

To qualify for consideration, applicants MUST be:

  • Registered FULL-TIME undergraduates in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions.
  • Certified 100-level students at the time of application.

Note: The following categories of students should not apply:

  • 200 level students and above.
  • Current beneficiaries of similar Awards from other Companies and Agencies.
  • Dependants of NAOC/NAE/AENR/NACPFA.

Specific Requirements for Awards:

  • Only indigenes of NAOC Host/Transit Communities in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, and Imo States SHOULD apply for the Host Communities Merit Award.
  • Only applicants studying Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, and Agricultural Sciences are eligible for the National Merit Award.

Selection Process

  • The Aptitude test will take place at designated centers to be communicated to applicants later.
  • Applicants will bear the cost of transportation to and from the Aptitude test centers.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to participate in the Aptitude Test.
  • Applicants with less than 50% overall score in the Aptitude Test will not be considered.
  • The Aptitude test results of all participants will be published on the notice board in all NAOC locations.

Application Documents

Applicants are required to upload the following documents:

  1. Passport photograph with white background not more than 6 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb).
  2. School ID Card.
  3. O’level Certificate.
  4. Admission Letter.
  5. Birth Certificate.
  6. Proof of Local Government Area of Origin.
  7. Letter from Community Paramount Ruler (only for Host Communities Merit Award applicants).
  8. Letter from CDC Chairman (only for Host Communities Merit Award applicants).
  9. JAMB Result.

Application Deadline

How to Apply

Interested and qualified candidates should follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure you have clearly scanned copies of the required documents.
  2. Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up during upload.
  3. Ensure to provide valid Email and Phone Contacts for effective communication.
  4. Fill out and sign the NAOC compliance declaration form. Download the form here.

Application Steps:

  1. Click on the “Apply Now” tab.
  2. Click on “Register Now” to create an account.
  3. Activate your account via the email sent to you.
  4. Visit Scholarship site to complete your application.
  5. Enter your registered email and password to upload your information.
  6. Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, other information, and upload the required scanned documents.
  7. Ensure the name used in the application matches the names on all documentation. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise.
  8. Ensure to review all documents after uploading to eliminate errors.
  9. Click “Apply Now” to submit your information.
  10. You will receive an email and SMS confirming your application was successful.
  11. Download your profile from www.scholastica.ng, have your Head of Department sign the document, and upload a scanned copy of the signed profile for verification.
  12. Return to scholarship site and update your application with the National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion.

NIN Registration:

  • Visit NIN Enrolment to register.
  • Complete the form, and schedule a date for photo and fingerprint capture.
  • Visit any capture center to complete the registration process and obtain your National Identification Number.
  • Multiple applications attract a disqualification penalty from the Scholarship board.

Note:

  • Obtaining NIN is not compulsory to complete your application.
