Overview
The Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship for Overseas Candidates is designed for international students outside Japan who are planning to enroll in graduate programs (master’s or doctoral) at the Asian Pacific University (APU) in Japan. The scholarship offers full funding, including tuition, a monthly living stipend, and travel expenses.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Not hold Japanese nationality, including dual nationality holders.
- Obtain a student visa to enter Japan for study purposes.
- Be residing outside Japan until the start of the program.
- Not have resided in Japan for more than 31 days in total, except in certain family or educational circumstances.
- Have Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N4 or higher.
- Be born after April 2, 1980.
- Not have previously been a Rotary Yoneyama Scholar.
Benefits
- Master’s students: ¥140,000 per month for two years.
- Doctoral students: ¥140,000 per month for two years.
- Economy air travel and other travel-related expenses reimbursed up to ¥250,000 after arrival in Japan.
Application Process
To apply for the Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship:
- Request to be considered as a Rotary Yoneyama scholarship candidate in the APU Online Application System and submit the application to APU by September 16, 2024.
- Apply directly to the scholarship organization around October 2024. Inform the scholarship organization that the Letter of Recommendation from APU will be issued after the application deadline.
- APU will provide a Letter of Recommendation for selected scholarship candidates after the admissions results notification on November 13, 2024.
- Submit the Letter of Recommendation to the scholarship organization.
