Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Honjo International Scholarship 2024, applicants must:

  • Have a deep understanding of international friendship and goodwill, and participate in the foundation’s events and alumni network.
  • Be capable of everyday conversation in Japanese, as interviews will be conducted in Japanese.
  • Be under 35 years old for PhD courses or under 30 years old for master’s programs.
  • Be enrolled in a program longer than 12 months.

Benefits

The scholarship period aligns with the minimum time required to complete the intended degree:

  • ¥230,000 per month for 1-2 years degree.
  • ¥210,000 per month for a 3-year degree.
  • ¥180,000 per month for 4-5 years of degree.

Required Documents

Applicants need to submit the following:

  • Academic transcripts in Japanese or English (translations required for other languages).
  • Research proposal (using the designated template in Japanese).
  • Recommendation letter from a supervisor.
  • Documents proving admission, such as an admission letter or letter of acceptance.
  • Certificate of enrollment (if already enrolled).
